The Ultrasound Department boasts state of the art equipment. We work closely with our Research department to discover and redefine medicine.
Ultrasound is defined as sound or other vibrations having an ultrasonic frequency, particularly used in medical imaging. It is also called sonogram or echocardiogram.
Ultrasound is a non-invasive and painless procedure. A professionally registered sonographer utilizes gel along with a transducer to direct sounds waves to specific areas of interest. The reflected sound waves are processed via the ultrasound machine to create pictures of anatomical structures. Cardiovascular ultrasound specifically looks at the heart and the body’s circulation.
