Marvin Padnick, MD, FACP, FACC
Dr. Marvin Padnick, Cardiologist for Phoenix Heart, graduated from Hofstra University and pursued his graduate education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree before acquiring his M.D. at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Padnick trained in Medicine at Cornell University, where he was senior resident and where he subsequently underwent fellowship training in Cardiology. He served as Division Chief of Medicine at Maryvale Medical Center and Division Chief of Cardiology at Good Samaritan Medical Center, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Padnick trained in coronary angioplasty in Zurich Switzerland in 1980 with Dr. Andreas Gruntzig, the father of Coronary Angioplasty, and he is credited with performing the first angioplasty in the Southwest. He has undergone advanced qualification training in Interventional Cardiology including Rotoblator Atherectomy and Cardiovascular Ultrasound. He has also developed areas of special expertise in Coronary and Peripheral Intervention, in Defibrillator Implants, Permanent Pacemakers, and Biventricular Pacemakers for congestive heart failure.
His articles on these subjects have appeared in The New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, and Clinical Research, among others. He has participated in extensive research as a Principal Investigator in several clinical studies, and has been involved in developing new treatments and therapies for a variety of heart diseases. He is certified Diplomate by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Subspecialty of Cardiovascular Diseases, and the American Board of Internal Medicine, with Special Qualifications in Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Padnick also specializes in neurovascular intervention, having performed over 70 carotid and verterbral artery stent procedures. He is also principal investigator in the Capture II Carotid Stent intervention trial.
Dr. Padnick is the Director of the Phoenix Heart Vein Clinic, and lectures on both venous and arterial disease of the lower extremeties.
