Douglas P. Jensen, MD, FACC
Dr. Douglas Jensen, Doctor of Cardiology for Phoenix Heart, graduated with distinction in Chemistry from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, and pursued his medical education at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where he graduated Cum Laude.
Dr. Jensen completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center and subsequently underwent fellowship training in Cardiology at the University of Colorado Medical Center, where he served as Assistant Professor of Medicine. He was Vice Chief and Chief of Staff at Maryvale Samaritan Hospital, served on the Executive Council of the American College of Cardiology, Arizona Chapter, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona.
Dr. Jensen has published a number of medical articles in American Journal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Clinical Research, and several other journals and publications. He has developed special expertise in clinical cardiology, invasive cardiology and nuclear cardiology. As Sub-Investigator in numerous clinical studies, he has been involved in developing new treatments and therapies for a variety of heart diseases, including peripheral arterial disease, thrombosis, vascular occlusion, myocardial infarction and acute heart failure. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is board-certified in Nuclear Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Cardiovascular Disease.
