Fred H. Cucher, M.D., F.A.C.C. is the Director of the Certified Echocardiographic and Vascular Labs at Phoenix Heart and takes great pride in the quality of the work produced by these departments.
Dr. Cucher is board-certified in cardiology, with areas of expertise in coronary artery disease, anti-arrhythmic treatment, congestive heart failure, and the current treatment and prevention of sudden death. He has done extensive research in the field of cardiology and has been involved with the development of several new therapeutic agents, including, most recently, one of the new blood-thinning drugs to replace Coumadin.
Dr. Cucher underwent fellowship training in cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Chicago Medical School, Chicago, Illinois after graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor of arts with honors and distinction in psychology.
Dr. Cucher is a certified diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and Subspecialty of Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
