Douglas P. Jensen, M.D., F.A.C.C. has developed special expertise in nuclear imaging and clinical cardiology.
Dr. Jensen has published a number of medical articles in American Journal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Clinical Research, and several other journals and publications. Through numerous clinical studies, he has been involved in developing new treatments and therapies for a variety of heart diseases, including peripheral arterial disease, thrombosis, vascular occlusion, myocardial infarction and acute heart failure.
He was Vice Chief and Chief of Staff at Maryvale Samaritan Hospital, served on the Executive Council of the American College of Cardiology, Arizona Chapter, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona. He served as assistant professor of medicine, University of Colorado Medical Center. He was an associate investigator at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Division of Cardiology, Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Jensen underwent fellowship training in cardiology at University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver, Colorado. His residency and internship was at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri. He graduated with his Doctor of Medicine, Cum Laude and with distinction in chemistry from the University of Missouri Kansas City, Kansas City, Missouri. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, honor medical society.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is board certified in nuclear cardiology, internal medicine, and cardiovascular disease.
